Placing Human Dignity at the Heart of Storytelling

In our diverse and interconnected world, principles of tolerance, coexistence and inclusivity are foundational to justice and peace. From a young age, children can learn to appreciate diversity, celebrate multiculturalism and practise conflict resolution; indeed they must, if, as adults, they are to address the issues that have historically caused division and conflict.

Storytelling has a powerful role to play in shaping the narratives that define cultures. It can be an important tool for fostering empathy, connection, tolerance and inclusivity.

This event will bring together development and humanitarian practitioners, activists and storytellers to address an ever-growing need for narratives that counter prejudice and promote global solidarity. It will also advocate for the individual and collective effort required from each of us to advance positive change within our families, communities and the wider world.
