Dubai Cares, in partnership with Sentebale, supported a program that endeavored to facilitate access to primary school education for herd boys in Lesotho through the provision of 5 night schools in key rural locations. Because of the nature of their work, 60% of the herd boys in Lesotho aged 6-18 had been excluded from school and received no education.
Dubai Cares supported the establishment of five night-schools that provided 125 herd boys with:
• A primary education in math and literacy and the opportunity to achieve the Primary School Leaving Certificate through the refurbishment of 5 schools
• Hot meals, warm clothes and blankets, vocational training and basic agricultural and leadership training
