On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the ascension of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Cares celebrates his transformative and inspirational leadership that has not only enabled Dubai to thrive, but continues to bring light and hope to the global community.
A global UAE-based philanthropic organization dedicated to providing access to quality education to children in developing countries, Dubai Cares is a member of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, a foundation established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which has 28 organizations committed to fighting poverty and illness, spreading knowledge, empowering communities, and driving entrepreneurship and innovation under its umbrella. By 2025, its initiatives – comprising over 1,400 programs focused on human development in more than 116 countries – are intended to help 130 million people in need around the world.
Dubai Cares embodies His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s unswerving belief in education as a universal human right, an irrevocable asset, and the catalyst for positive contribution to society. Marking the anniversary of the ascension, Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Cares said: “Through an approach to leadership that is both forward-looking and outward-looking, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum is testimony to how innovation and compassion can intertwine to drive progress, nurture aspiration, and foster achievement.”

In nine years, Dubai Cares has launched education programs that now reach over 16 million beneficiaries in 45 developing countries globally, in partnership with UN aid agencies, local and international NGOs. From building and renovating schools and classrooms, to training teachers and distributing books, to providing nutritious food and water sources in schools, it is making a difference in many ways.
