  • Date

    15 March - 23 March 2020

  • Location

School-building mission in Nepal

Are you 21 years and above, a UAE resident, enthusiastic about social work and physically capable of performing construction work and adapting to the working conditions and routine of life in a remote village?  Then, Volunteer Globally is for you!

Volunteer Globally is one of the main pillars of Dubai Cares’ community outreach activities. It offers members of the UAE community a rare opportunity to join the Dubai Cares’ team in a remote and under served community to construct a school. The school-building mission will take place in Nepal from 15 to 23 March 2020

Selected volunteers will participate in various activities that include digging, picking, sifting, mixing concrete, making bricks, carrying water and tying rebar. Worksite activities will also be combined with cultural education workshops. Volunteers will stay in a basic accommodation within close proximity to the school site and the community benefiting from the initiative.

To apply, we invite you to complete the applications form no later than Tuesday, 12 November 2019 at 10:00 AM.

50 applicants will be shortlisted in the first round. Following a series of one-on-one interviews that will take place between 8 and 10 December, 15 volunteers will be selected and another 15 placed on the waiting list.

The 15 selected volunteers will receive a comprehensive briefing ahead of the trip, which will cover the ground situation in Nepal, socio-economic background as well as an overview of the activities that will be undertaken as part of the school construction.

Dubai Cares will finance the trip by covering the visa cost, travel, accommodation, food and beverages, travel supplies and safety equipment. We expect the volunteers to cover the cost of vaccination, malaria tablets and medical checkups which are mandatory.

Upon their return to Dubai, volunteers will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from Dubai Cares.
