In response to the mass-displacement of Rohingya from Myanmar into neighboring Bangladesh, Dubai Cares responded by supporting the Education Cannot Wait Fund to ensure the coordination and holistic emergency education response in Cox’s Bazaar where most of the refugees had fled to.
According to the United Nations, the conflict in Myanmar has forced over 400,000 Rohingya to flee their homes to Bangladesh forming a new humanitarian crisis, with children at its heart. The support from Dubai Cares enables the Education Cannot Wait Fund to cover more than half of the immediate education response needs.
