Dubai Cares’ program aims to support the integrated intervention model developed by Kusi Warma, a Peru-based local NGO and called MAIPI which consists of providing access for children from 0 to 3 years old to Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers, parenting education, capacity building of communities and local authorities, raising awareness of the rights of pre-school children and of the responsibilities of caregivers and authorities in ensuring those rights.
The program aims to:
• Provide 500 children between the ages of 0 to 3 years with comprehensive attention (health, nutrition, early education and protection) through access to ECD centers and home visits
• Provide 351 families with improved parenting knowledge and skills
• Ensure that Ventanilla and Turpo communities are able to monitor the growth and development of children below the age of 3 and drive initiatives in favor of young children
• Ensure the commitment of the local government including Ministries of Health and Education to early childhood development interventions and ensure proper attention and care for the children
