Dubai Cares funded this program to strengthen access to quality basic education and help reduce the barriers that prevent girls from completing school. To address problems of poor access, quality and protection, Dubai Cares worked with target schools’ administration and communities to develop community participation in support of education. It also worked to increase access to schools and improve the quality of teaching and learning, as well as to improve the protection within target schools. The program created 116 non-formal basic schools, 24 Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers and 12 Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) centers. A total of 54,916 children benefited from improved access to quality education.
