In light of the dire need to return children to education, Dubai Cares is piloting an Accelerated Learning Program in Liberia to reduce the number of out-of-school children and support their re-integration into the formal education system.
During the first year of the program, ‘catch-up’ classes will be established, which will be specially designed for children who have missed school due to the Ebola crisis and haven’t been out of school for a prolonged period of time. These classes will be 4-5 months long. In year 2, the regular accelerated program will be implemented, which targets children who have been out of school for 3 years or more.
