Dubai Cares worked towards supporting the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP), a poverty reduction initiative launched in 2005 by the Ghanaian government, which targets school-age children living in poverty and food insecurity. Through this program, Dubai Cares helped build the government’s capacity to improve the utilization of food by school children and food insecure households, promote educational outcomes and reduce parasitic infection among school-age children.

Program activities focused on:
• Behavioral change communications at the school and community levels
• Micro Nutrient Powders (MNPs) to improve the nutritional content of school meals
• School Meals Planner (SMP) to aid in the preparation of school meals
• Assisting the national deworming exercise
