Through this program, Dubai Cares addressed the needs of UNRWA’s school children in West bank and Gaza. The program supported initiatives to control the intestinal worm infestation among children, through a comprehensive deworming campaign, in order to promote and improve their health status.
As part of the program, Dubai Cares:
• Provided 2 doses of Mebendazole 500mg tablets to all school children enrolled in UNRWA schools in Gaza and West Bank
• Developed and distributed educational materials promoting preventive hygiene practices among school children
• Provided iron supplementation for all school children in the first grade and treatment to those identified with anemia in all grades
