Dubai Cares has launched a 3-year girls’ education program in Egypt in 3 governorates in Upper Egypt. The program’s overall objective is to improve the quality of education for girls in a safe and engaging school environment by adopting a multi-faceted approach that ensures the provision of necessary competencies that enable girls to cultivate leadership skills through extracurricular activities and sports. The program also gives girls the opportunity to practice leadership through Student Union participation; tackling norms and values of school stakeholders to accept girls’ empowerment; improving learning facilities to provide a more comfortable environment for girls; and improving the quality of education by developing teachers’ abilities in teaching Arabic and Math and training them on active learning techniques and positive discipline methods.
