Dubai Cares worked to improve girls’ access to quality primary education by supporting schools and communities in
five selected districts of South Punjab and Sindh provinces. The program was implemented in partnership with local
organizations that have previously demonstrated a strong track record in gender equity and girls’ education.
The program focused on:
• Renovation and reconstruction of 41 schools and premises
• Provision of school supplies and teacher training
• Formation and training of School Management Committees
• Health and awareness sessions
• Participation of children in school improvement
• Establishment of links with district government
• Policy advocacy and capacity building among the program partners
