Dubai Cares, in partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), reintegrated out-of-school children into the formal education system by providing a one-year accelerated bridging program. Priority was given to the children who had missed their basic education because of conflict and displacement. The program strived to secure equal access for girls and boys, giving special attention to removing obstacles to girls’ enrollment and retention. Particular attention was given to vulnerable individuals and groups, such as those in the settlements and children with special education needs.

Program activities included:

• Construction of appropriate learning spaces
