The Dubai Cares – TCF Art Exhibition & Gala Dinner, which took place last night (22 October 2013) at the newly opened Conrad Dubai, raised AED 1 million for the TCF Primary School – Dubai Cares Campus in Pakistan.

The fundraiser organized by  UAE-based philanthropic organization Dubai Cares, and The Citizens Foundation (TCF), a non-profit organization focusing on providing quality education to the less privileged in Pakistan who would have otherwise been denied their basic right to education, featured an auction of works by established and emerging artists from Pakistan and UAE conducted by William Lawrie. The event also featured an art exhibition and silent auction that ran from 11 am to 5 pm on the same day at the Conrad Dubai.

Mushtaq Chhapra, Chairman, The Citizens Foundation said: “We are honoured to join hands with Dubai Cares to raise AED 1 million for the less- privileged children of Pakistan. I would like to thank Mr. Tariq Al Gurg and the sponsors, donors and supporters of the Art for Education: Auction & Gala Dinner for making this function a great success. The overwhelming support of this initiative reflects the importance placed by the attendees on promoting education. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Dubai Cares in the future.”

Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Cares said: “I would like to thank each and every donor for their generosity and support for the TCF Primary School – Dubai Cares Campus in Pakistan. This is a very special project for us and we are proud to partner with The Citizens Foundation in providing a safe, secure and motivating learning environment for the children of Pakistan. For us here in the UAE, quality education for our children is not just a priority but a must. We recognize the positive impact of good quality primary schooling and see it as the foundation for developing our children’s academic, social and economic potential. Through the TCF Primary School – Dubai Cares Campus, we want to provide children of Pakistan with the same opportunity. We see the classroom - a place where they can hone their reading, writing, mathematics and social skills - as a window to better prospects and a better life. At Dubai Cares we are continuously embarking on new initiatives that improve the wellbeing of the less privileged children across Pakistan through the provision of quality primary education.”
