Our Vision

To break the cycle of poverty by ensuring all children have access to quality primary education

Quality education is a critical factor in every child’s development. Yet millions of children, most of them girls, do not have access to quality education, particularly in developing nations.

There are numerous barriers which prevent children from going to school. Dubai Cares is proactively focusing on the underlying factors that prevent children from accessing quality primary education.

These core areas are infrastructure (building and refurbishing schools, providing critical learning materials, creating libraries, etc.), health and nutrition (education and training in this areas as well as nutrition supplements and feeding programs, etc.), quality education (teacher training, Parent-Teacher-Child Associations, etc.) and water and sanitation (access to clean water, education and training on sanitation, access to gender-specific latrines, etc).

In response to global development challenges including lack of access to education, 189 nations adopted the UN’s Millennium Development Goals in September 2000. Dubai Cares links the second Millennium Development Goal of achieving universal primary education with the strongly held belief of its founder, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum that education is essential to break the cycle of poverty and that a nation’s most vital resource is its people. His Highness recognizes, therefore, that without access to education, people are unable to achieve their potential, or to become integral, independent leaders and contributors in their societies.
