Through this program, Dubai Cares is working towards improving the transition to secondary school, as well as drop-out rates by 30%, strengthening the capacity of local non-governmental organizations to analyze the complex issue of dropout and to design and prototype effective solutions and developing effective models that can be affordably and sustainably replicated, contributing to local and national efforts.
Dubai Cares is working closely with four local NGOs to design high-leverage solutions that address key drivers of dropout:
• Prioritizing school over work and marriage
• Lowering direct, indirect and opportunity costs
• Strengthening linkages with livelihood/employment opportunities
• Improving learning outcome
