Partnership for WASH-in-Schools in Mali
Dubai Cares has adopted an innovative multi-partner approach in Mali, designed to leverage and ensure a sustainable and impactful intervention. While the implementation of the program will be managed directly by individual partnership members, the partnership will ensure efficient and effective interagency learning and knowledge-sharing as well as evidence-based monitoring of strategic impact of WASH-in-Schools.
Dubai Cares is providing basic sanitation and environmental facilities to ensure a healthy and adequate learning environment, notably by enabling school children and staff to access appropriate and clean toilets. As part of the program, Dubai Cares is:
With Oxfam GB, Dubai Cares is providing safe water, sanitation facilities and hygiene education to 100 primaryschools in the Koulikoro and Gao regions of Mali. The program also aims to create a school environment that is more conducive to learning and influences behavior changes in the wider communities. The program researches and pilotsthe use of low cost water supply technologies, which the Malian government and other stakeholders may replicate in the future.

Together with WaterAid, Dubai Cares is targeting 5 communes across Koulikoro and the capital city Bamako. Both organizations are promoting low-cost sanitation technologies, conducting research, identifying solutions and leading cross program learning and knowledge-sharing.
