Provision of Water, Sanitation and Educational Kits for Syrian Refugees
Dubai Cares worked with Oxfam GB to reach out to Syrian refugee
children in Jordan and Lebanon. The program had two main objectives:
• The provision of water and sanitation facilities for 2,268 Syrian refugee children in Zaatari camp, district 8, through the construction of 9 WASH facilities
• The provision of educational kits for 1,800 refugee children (male and female), aged between 4 and 12 years old, living in camps in Sabra (Beirut) and Wavel (Baalbeck) and in other cities in the South of Lebanon
Zarqa Elementary and Preparatory School for Boys in Jordan
As part of this program, Dubai Cares demolished and replaced three dilapidated buildings that are used by these two schools with one adequate school. The schoolyard was paved and shading sheds were installed. All classrooms and specialized rooms were fully furnished and equipped.

“My Arabic Library” sets, produced and developed by Scholastic, combine Arabic-language classroom/school library book sets with customized teacher training on the use of supplementary reading materials.
