Support to Quality Basic Education in Comoros
The overall objective of the program was to improve quality of primary education as well as effectiveness and efficiency of the management of the education system. These improvements, along with increased access and reduced disparities between girls andboys and among islands, contributed to achieving retention and completion of the primary education cycle. Key to achieving this target was to make available infrastructure for Early Childhood Development programs to enable all Comorian children to beready for primary education and ensure full enrollment.
Dubai Cares focused on maintaining the Competencies Based Approach to cover the 45,852 students, reducing gender disparities within the education system, as well as assisting inthe rehabilitation and renovation of 60 informal Koranic Schools that, in association with modified teaching methodology, facilitate early childhood development.
