Dubai Cares, in partnership with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai, is launching ‘“Dubai Cares Student Fair”, which will run over 6 weeks during the 2012 autumn term. The fair invites students to come up with creative fundraising methods in their schools in support of universal primary education globally. This is the latest local school-based initiative by the UAE based philanthropic organization, which previously launched, also in partnership with KHDA, “Dubai Cares Student Clubs” last November.
Schools can start raising funds any time between September 15th and November 1st, 2012. Students have the option of organizing one-day events or several events held over the course of fair. The names of all participating schools, including the winning school that raises the highest sum, will be announced on November 20th, 2012, which marks the United Nations' Universal Children's Day, celebrated annually around the world since 1954. All participating students and schools will be recognized and awarded for their participation by Dubai Cares and KHDA.
“Dubai Cares Student Clubs” is a long time partnership with the school and Dubai Cares which will last for the entire academic year. The aim of the clubs is to raise awareness among students of the situation of education in developing countries and Dubai Cares primary education programs; promote a spirit of philanthropy and social responsibility in UAE schools; and encourage students to propose and implement innovative solutions to challenges faced by their peers in developing countries.
The “Dubai Cares Student Club” is managed and operated by students and administrators at the school with the support from Dubai Cares staff.
Dubai Cares staff can be involved in the club by coming to the school presenting to the student body about the challenges children in developing countries go through every day to go to school.
Dubai Cares invites all schools (public and private) in the UAE to take part in its student activities. For more information and to register your school in either initiative or both, please send an email to or call 04-4504550 to speak to a representative.
